TWIN HOSTS: TWO TIMES THE FUN
Our hosts for our big day? None other than your Titas Pat & Dan. They had everyone chuckling through the night, especially when they showed the video they made for your mum.
But that’s for a later post… :)

PRESENTING MR. & MRS. GERV… :)
(By the way kids, your mum’s in really high heels. I’m actually MUCH taller. Just sayin’!)
WEDDING AVP: HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER
Kids, in case you ever wonder: What did we look like when we were your age? Who did we hang out with in High School? College? What were our first jobs?
It’s all here, in this video I made in my apartment in Vevey before the wedding. Equal parts embarrassing and sentimental. Funny and romantic. It’s the story of how I met your mother.
WAITING FOR THE WORLD TO CHANGE
Kids, while your mum and I were outside the Tent, taking advantage of the free photo booth, our friends & family were inside waiting…
Parents going around making jokes. Or making their speeches (if they were cramming!). The twins making one last run through of the program. People snapping photos & taking videos. Others viewing the ones they already took.
Seemed so long to me at first, then we heard the first AVP start to play…
PERFECT TENT
Kids, your mum put a lot of effort in making sure every detail of the reception was just the way she liked it. These won’t do it justice, but here are some snapshots to help you imagine what the setting was like.
Kids,
While our guests were enjoying the Jamon, popcorn & corndogs, your mum and I were taking a break in the Glass House. Too bad we didn’t get to taste the treats (should’ve reserved some!)… but we did get some nice shots.

Your Mum getting a retouch while I was outside, wiping off the dog crap I stepped on in the Church garden. Just my luck…

Christmas tree lights made for a really cool background! Note to self: learn how to shoot like this.
AT THE COCKTAIL PARTY… (CONTINUED)
More photos of happy people at our reception. Friends everywhere! :)
AT THE COCKTAIL PARTY…
Kids, while your mum and I were making our way from the church, our guests grabbed some drinks and snacks (Jamon, popcorn, etc.) right outside the Rockwell Tent.
Too bad we didn’t get to join them! We also didn’t get to try the food. But we know they enjoyed. We’ve got the photos to prove it.
PARKS & RECREATION
Kids, when everyone else left for the reception, we hung back and our photographer (Pat Mateo) took some shots of us in the church’s garden.
Reminded me of all the times your mum and I hung out in the Dasma parks. No TVs or laptops. Just us, a bench and stuff to talk about.
Well, your mum did most of the talking. I did most of the listening. And sometimes the sleeping. :P
BREAK THE DOORS DOWN!
Kids,
It was time to step down from the altar. A handshake here. A photo there. Kisses on the cheek and laughs by the pews.
Then we finally made it through the doors, to more smiles and cheers from the crowd. :)
SAY CHEESE!
So after the kiss, the bride and groom rush out the church doors, hop on their car with cans hanging from bumper and drive off into the sunset - just like in the movies, right? Wrong, kids.
How could you forget the all-important photos at the altar?! Forget this part and chances are, your parents will kill you. Just saying. :)

BLACK & WHITE BLISS
Kids, your Tito Mike took this shot right after the wedding ceremonies ended. He gave it the title “Happiness”.
Couldn’t agree more. :)
TAKING A STEP BACK.
A bird’s eye view of our church, San Sebastian, all dressed up and Gothic.
ACTION AT THE ALTAR
So kids, we finally reached the altar! In the movies, this is the part where the “happily ever after” always begins. Or where someone interrupts and things go wrong (for the wedding, at least). But don’t worry, nothing bad happened that day! Nothing at all. :)
The whole wedding rite lasted an hour, but to me, it all breezed by so quickly. One moment, we were listening to the readers, then I was fumbling with putting on my ring, and so went the ritual until finally, I lifted the veil and kissed the bride.
And we were officially married!
HERE COMES MY BRIDE… :)
Kids, it was finally time for your mum’s grand entrance. Probably the moment most people wait for in a wedding. (Well, it’s definitely not the groom’s entrance! haha)
So there I was at the front of the altar. I had to keep leaning forward and to my right to get a better view of the doors. They finally opened. And your mum smiled all throughout her march. Maybe because she knew she was the prettiest thing EVER. Or maybe because she “semi-tripped” a bit and found it funny (or so she claimed afterwards, although I didn’t notice anything). Or maybe she just liked the song that played (instrumental version of “More Than Anyone” by Gavin DeGraw). Who knows what really goes on in her mind?! What matters is that she was happy.
Meanwhile kids, I was watching the whole thing like I was one of the guests. A spectator with front row seats. I wasn’t thinking at all what to do when she got to me. Smart. So when your mum finally arrived at the steps of the altar, I stepped in front of her and… I just looked at her. Seconds passed, minutes, then hours - just kidding.
Finally, someone told me to greet the parents first and lead her up the altar. Thank God for that guy! (And for Marta who fixed your mum’s flowers.)
